The city of San Sebastian has that coastal charm and that peace and quiet of the north that captivates us so much. If you are planning a trip to Donosti for a few days, here are some ideas of places that should not be missed on your route.

Paseo de La Concha: the route starts at the end of Avenida Libertad and ends at the Antiguo tunnel. This promenade runs along the beach, with the possibility of cycling or walking or walking along the sea shore.

Juan Rafael Alday was a 20th century architect who created the railing along the promenade, which has become one of the city's landmarks.

Peine del Viento: located on Ondarreta beach and at the foot of Mount Igeldo in 1977. It is a sculptural ensemble of pink granite terraces and three pieces of steel. It is an obligatory stop for tourists, especially on stormy days, as you can watch the waves crashing against the rocks of the cliff.

San Sebastián old town: the most visited place. Built in 1813 at the foot of Mount Urgull between the port and the mouth of the River Urumea.

There are two important religious temples, the Basilica of Santa María del Coro and the church of San Vicente. The San Telmo Museum is located in a former convent. Finally, there is the Plaza de la Constitución, where nowadays most of the city's festive events take place.

Its gastronomy is well known world wide. A place that allows you to make an exclusive gastronomic trip due to its variety of dishes and its abundant restaurants.

Traditional cider houses are famous in the Basque Country. In the right season you can enjoy the atmosphere and tap the cider from the barrel to the cry of Txotx. As for the food, you can enjoy various menus consisting mainly of chops, cod omelettes and delicious cheeses.

The stately streets of its old town and the spectacular golden sandy bay of La Concha beach make San Sebastian a perfect destination for a city break. It has an important cultural offer since it is a modern and cosmopolitan city full of museums, theatres and cinemas.

One of its main tourist attractions is undoubtedly its gastronomy with the tasting of its world-famous pintxos (tapas).

It has the La Concha beach in Donostia-San Sebastián, awarded as the best in Europe and the sixth best in the world in recognised international awards.

Nearby you can visit charming villages such as Hondarribia, Txinguidi, Zarautz, Getaria, Zumaia, Oñati and Azpeitia, among others, while not forgetting the French coast with Irún as a gateway.
