Binter Social's commitment to the environment

At Binter we are aware that, although air connectivity is vital for the development of the archipelago, it is also important to reduce its impact to protect the islands´ ecosystems. This is why we have been working for years on the implementation and development of environmental and sustainable policies.

This started with the renewal of our aircraft fleet (recognised as one of the youngest in Europe) with the incorporation of more sustainable models such as the Embraer E195-E2. As a result, we have managed to reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and noise pollution.

«Ecological Fleet», the sustainable stamp of our ground equipment

Another of our actions has been the replacement of part of our ground equipment with electric models, distinguished with the «Ecological Fleet» seal. We have also replaced some of its elements with other less polluting ones, thus reducing its impact and anticipating AENA´s requirements in this area.

These measures have also reached the passenger cabin, adapting our in-flight service with ecological consumables made of cardboard and 100% compostable recycled paper. In this way, we have stopped using some three million plastic cups per year.

We have also introduced sustainability into our Corporate Social Responsibility objectives, collaborating with various projects ranging from reforestation to research into the effect of microplastics on marine ecosystems.
