Canary Islands Intercultural Festival - Senegal Ci la bokk

The Ci la bokk festival returns to the Canary Islands thanks to Binter

«Ci la bokk», which can be translated as «I belong too», is a festival that highlights interculturality as an enriching element for all societies. This project, born in 2019 as a response to the relationship between Senegal and the Canary Islands, marked mainly by the migratory flow, already had the collaboration of Binter. And in 2022, after the break caused by the pandemic, it returned with a second edition held between Senegal and the Canary Islands, also with the airline´s collaboration.

The event, organised and directed by the Senegalese artist resident in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Khaly Thioune, also has the collaboration of Senegalese and Canary Islanders resident both on the islands and in Senegal. This triple perspective of the festival provides a special sensitivity to work on the various subjects on which the meeting focuses.

Through music, dance, theatre and talks, the Ci la bokk Festival seeks to generate a socio-cultural impulse between the two regions while raising awareness of migration and multicultural issues. At Binter Social we are very proud to continue strengthening the ties between the Canary Islands and Africa through cultural initiatives such as this.
