As its name indicates, this is the largest island in the Balearic Islands archipelago. This Mediterranean marvel attracts with its history and traditions, one example of which is the Bellver Castle which not only has the best views of the island but is one of the few Gothic fortresses still standing.
Among other things, Mallorca is also famous for its crystal-clear water bathing its more than 250 beaches. The diversity among these is enormous with beaches of white sand ready for passing a great day with the family, coves in which to practise various water sports and rocky bays to escape from the crowd and spend a day picnicking on the coast.
As well as all this, it is important to note that the north-west includes the Sierra de Tramontana, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.
